Looking for information on YMCA Daycare?

Founded in London in 1844, the YMCA responded to a social conditions during the Industrial Revolution. Since then, the YMCA has been involved in helping those in society who require aid. Today, the YMCA provides support for parents who are struggling to survive with limited resources.

Nearly 40% of the children for whom the YMCA daycare provides assistance are from homes with only one parent. Half of the children looked after come from families whose annual income is less than $25,000. As these families struggle to make ends meet, time becomes a limited commodity. Often, the parents of the children are working multiple jobs and are not able to stay home with the kids. Fortunately, the YMCA is able to offer help for these folks.

Does The YMCA Provide This Service For Free?

While not completely free, the YMCA daycare service is affordable to most of the people who need the service. However, if a person is under such financial distress that they cannot afford the low fee, that person has options. The YMCA tries to offer financial assistance to people who cannot pay for the service.

What Does The YMCA Provide For Children?

The YMCA daycare service focuses on helping the children develop mentally, physically and spiritually. Unlike other day care services that are content to simply watch the children to ensure they do not hurt themselves, the YMCA is interested in helping each child in several areas of development.

While maintaining their health through fitness and exercise routines, children are also taught about the environment, diversity amongst their peers and the value of community service. By teaching these things, the YMCA hopes to encourage character development within each child.

Who Watches The Children?

The YMCA staff that spends time with the children are carefully-selected and trained to ensure that each child is properly cared for. Further, staff members are required to regularly attend additional professional development training on an ongoing basis.

By creating a program that reaches out to a community and offers assistance to parents in need, YMCA daycare is able to serve the community while teaching the children in that community how to live well and develop into thoughtful, caring individuals.
