The one thing which troubles women who wish to start their own home daycare centers is
the amount of money they need to invest in this business to get it off the ground. Even though starting a day care isn't that expensive and
people do it all the time, there are times in a person's life when even a small investment may seem large and terrifying. Wouldn't it be nice
if you could open your daycare on someone else's dollar? Well, the truth is that you can.
Every year, the US government doles out millions of dollars in grants. The type of grants are numerous and diverse, but what you should
know is that there are a lot of grants for new small businesses both on the federal level and on the state level. A child care center would
certainly qualify for many of these small businesses grants.
The great thing about grants is that, unlike loans, you never have to pay the money back. The moment you get the grant and as long as you
use the money you get to build your business, you never have to repay it which takes a lot of the pressure off. But don't get excited yet,
because it's not the easiest thing in the world to get grants if you don't know what you're doing. There are 2 reasons for this:
1. It's not easy to cut through all the red tape involved in finding the right grants and to apply to them.
2. Since everyone wants free money, there are a lot of applicants for each grants. Unless you know how to write a grant application which
will shine brighter than the others, your chances of getting grant money are slim.
What you need to do is invest a little money in a grant resource, and there are a number of those online. You should look upon this as
your first business investment, and believe me that once you get your grant, the initial investment will seem very small indeed.
Remember that getting a grant is just the first step towards establishing your profitable daycare center. But it can make the beginning a
lot easier and stress free.
