They will lay out in no uncertain terms how much space you need per child, as well as any licensing or insurance you need.  While costs like space rental and food costs are going to be at the top of your mind, you will also need to keep in mind things like insurance and licensing fees.

A high ratio of adults to children can make your daycare more attractive to the parents, but think about where you are going to get those adults.

For some people, opening a daycare facility that will become a full-time business and turn a profit is the goal, while other people are more interested in giving the neighborhood parents a good, friendly place to leave their kids during the day.
