Daycare Financing

daycare financingOne of the first things you need to do after deciding to start your own daycare center is to find the money to do so.

Sources of finance are various and each has its own pros and cons.

Choosing the best one is imperative to have a smooth beginning to your business.

Daycare Financing Options

1. Personal Money - If you have enough money to start a daycare, you're in excellent shape. You don't need anyone else to get started. A daycare doesn't cost much to set up so if you have some spare cash, it's the quickest way.

2. Friends and Family - If you have family members or friends who you think will be willing to help you get started with your daycare then don't be afraid to ask. Make it clear that you will pay the money back. Make sure to keep your request casual to avoid exerting pressure on your relationships.

3. Bank loans - If you can't find the money yourself or from your loved ones, then a bank loan might be in order. Bank loans carry interest and monthly payments, but once your daycare is off the ground, you should be able to make your payments. Make sure to arrange your payments so that you can make them each month.

4. Daycare Grants - Daycare grants are hard to come by but not impossible. Each year, the US government as well as local and private foundations give away grants for small businesses. You can capitalize on this and use some of this money to open and develop your daycare. The great thing about grant money is that you don't need to pay it back. It takes a bit of work to apply to these grants, but once you get them it's worth it.

5. The Small Business Administration - The SBA can help you find out about investors and grants.  They can also give you tips and advice that will help you grow your business.   There is a local chapter of the SBA in every state so you can check online for contact information.  The SBA does not give out grants itself but it does work very closesly with many organizations and investors that do.  You can also use the SBA to get a list of all the small business grants that the government provides.

6. Look for Angel Investors -  Angel Investors are people or organizations in your community that have money to provide people to start small businesses.  You can find Angel Investors for your daycare financing by looking in your local newspaper or online.  You can search the sites Small Business Notes and Venture Worthy as they can help you find investors.

Whichever way you find to finance starting your day care center, I wish you the best of luck. It's a wonderful business to be involved in.
